Laptop Notebook
What laptop/notebook would you consider for me ?
i like to travel around town, and i usually have assignments to do.
i would like to go to the city to some park and just relax while doing my assignment.
something that wont break easily and something small.
nothing over $1,500…. it might get stolen.
what laptop/notebook would you consider for me ?
Definitely a 15″ is the perfect size for general use. Not too big for your lap, or to carry around, yet big enough and powerful enough to do actual computer stuff, like gaming, movies, music, and graphics/video processing.
If you’re going to put the money out, be sure to get a dedicated videocard, preferably an nVidia. Just make sure it’s NOT INTEL. Cause intel video sucks.
Do get a intel processor though, a Core 2 Duo, i5, Core 2 Quad, or i7 (from good to better) at atleast 2.0 GHz or higher.
Bluray if you can.
A 7200RPM Harddrive if you can find one (most are 5400rpm), and at least 250GB.
For brands, I would recommend Apple with their Macbook Pros, or ASUS laptops. Those two have very nice computers, functionally and asthetically, and I have found to be very reliable. Apple offers 1 year warranty, with 3 for an extra $100-200, while ASUS comes with about 3 years. Dells are pretty good for their price, but if and when they break, it’s always for the weirdest reasons. HP is pretty good, but I for the most part haven’t been impressed with their price:performance ratio.
I would also recommend checking out used or refurbished computers, especially if you’re getting a Mac. Apple has a refurb store (at the bottom left of their store page), where better-than-new refurbs, which still has the same warranty as the new ones, for about 20% off. The computer I have is a used Macbook Pro, got it for about half-priced. No problems yet.
